The researchers of Sumy State University organized the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Nanomaterials: Applications and Properties September 10th-15th , 2017. The numerous international meeting took place in Zatoka, Odessa region.
The chairman of the Organizing Committee of the conference, Doctor of Science, Professor Alexander Pogrebnjak and the co-chairman, Senior Materials Scientists Valentyn Novosad (Argonne National Laboratory, United States) congratulated all the participants of the plenary sessions and wished a fruitful work.
More than 170 participants from more the 20 countries all over the world (the USA, Japan, China, Germany, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Georgia etc.) took part in the conference. More than 70 scientific reports were heard and more than 100 scientific posters were presented in terms of the conference.
The topics of the speeches of the invited speakers and the participants of the conference were focused on the various aspects of the producing and studding the nanomaterials, nanostructured thin films and interfaces, magnetic materials, perspectives on the nanotechnologies usage for Energy Applications and Biotechnologies.
In terms of the section “Nanomaterials in Medicine”, the round table, dedicated to the 8th Research Framework for Research and Innovation programme Horizon 2020, was held, involving the co-chairman, Professor Leonid Sukhodub, Doctor of Medical Science Maksym Pogorielov, the representatives of the “Ilaya” Medical center (Kyiv), Professor Oleg Lupan and Professor Victor Shonta from the Technical University of Moldova (Kishinev, Moldova), representatives from Germany (Martin Baum, Phd), Latvia (Roman Viter, Phd ) and Poland (representatives from “Osteoplast”). The creating of a consortium, aiming to fulfil a common project in terms of Horizon 2020, was discussed.
The researches of the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Nanomaterials: Applications and Properties were included into the conference proceedings (ISBN: 978-1- 5386- 2810-2, IEEE Catalog Number: CFP17F65-ART). Articles that have passed preliminary stage of review will be published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library and indexed with the abstract databases of Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection.
The authors of the best scientific reports and posters were noted by the Scientific Committee of the conference and awarded with special certificates, according to the results of the conference.
The co-organizers of the conference were the NGO “IEEE Ukraine Section”, Lublin University of Technology (Lublin, Poland) and the Technical University of Moldova (Kishinev, Moldova).
