On September 28th the Director of the Central Institute of Science and Technology (Sri Lanka) Randzhamini Veravatta visited Sumy State University. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the leading university and to discuss the prospects of further cooperation in the field of education, including the admission of foreign students.

 

According to the first vice-rector of SSU Vasyl D. Karpusha: «The aim of the meeting is to initiate long and fruitful cooperation. In our work we follow the principle: the better partners we have, the better students will come». The first vice-rector mentioned that SSU welcomes foreign students for studying for nearly 20 years. The university provides the students with the favorable conditions for obtaining qualitative education. A tour over the university campus was organized for the guest. Randzhamini Veravatta visited the Library- Information Center, the Department of Management, where the short-term courses and international accreditation of the discipline "Management" in English are implemented. The distance learning system was introduced to the guest that successfully has been operating in SSU for over 15 years. Randzhamini Veravatta had an overlook on the cooperation between the university and IT companies that are the potential employers for the students.

As the result of the visit an agreement on further cooperation was signed by SSU Rector Anatoliy Vasylyev and the representative of Sri Lanka Randzhamini Veravattoyu.
