The article ‘Experimental control of transport resonances in a coherent quantum rocking ratchet’ written by Sergey Denisov, a senior lecturer of SSU Department of General and Theoretical Physics, was published in the prestigious journal ‘Nature Communications’. This is the first article of SSU scientists published by Nature Publishing Group.

The article is about the experiments, in a result of which the possibility of directed controllable transport of rubidium atomic Bose–Einstein condensate in periodically modulated optical lattice has been investigated. The article presents the experimentally confirmed theoretical prognosis obtained by Sergey Denisov and the co-authors in 2007.

The identification of controlling mechanisms of quantum transport grants new opportunities in the development of quantum metrological devices and quantum information processing.
